OCS Presents Research Poster at the AMDA 30th Annual Symposium
|

OCS is very pleased to announce that Mary McGann, MPH, MSW,
OCS Senior Data Consultant, will be
presenting a research poster at the prestigious
American Medical Directors
Association 30th Annual Symposium in
Hollywood, Florida from March 29th through April 1st.
The poster features the results of a new study OCS
conducted with Kinetic
Concepts, Inc. (KCI), comparing emergent care and hospitalization utilization costs between patients receiving KCI's Vacuum Assisted Closure (VAC)
therapy to another group receiving one of
several other wound therapies. This new research
builds upon a recent study conducted by OCS and KCI
in 2005. Those results were published in the
September 2005 edition of the peer reviewed
Ostomy Wound Management Journal.
The poster Ms.
McGann created will also be entered into a
competition for the prestigious Howard Guterman Poster
Award,
presented to the best poster at the symposium, and
will be judged based on content, visual esthetics and
an interview with the presenter.
Ms. McGann was
assisted in this study by Christine Lang, OCS
Director of Product Development and Management
and Michael Keith, PhD,
PharmD, KCI Director of Health
Outcomes.
The results of this new study will be
published in a peer reviewed journal later this year.
